  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 4 cups granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 1 lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 packet pectin for thickening

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberries
  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them into smaller pieces.
Cook the Jam
  1. In a large pot, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the pectin and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
Jar the Jam
  1. Remove the pot from heat and ladle the hot jam into sterilized canning jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace.
  2. Seal the jars with lids and process in a boiling water bath for 5-10 minutes to ensure preservation.
