Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Strawberry Mixture
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method
 

Prepare Strawberry Mixture
  1. In a blender, combine the fresh strawberries and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, if desired.
Make Ice Cream Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Fold in the strawberry mixture until well combined.
Chill and Churn
  1. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until well chilled.
  2. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use ripe strawberries. You can also add chunks of strawberries during the churning process for added texture.
