Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
Tomatoes
  • 4 medium fresh tomatoes chopped
Onion
  • 1 medium onion chopped
Garlic
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
Oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper, and basil. Cook for about 10 minutes until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture is heated through.
Combining
  1. Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet and toss to combine with the tomato mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.
