Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce low sodium recommended
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 1 tbsp green onions sliced, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
For the Rice
  • 2 cups white rice uncooked
  • 4 cups water

Method
 

Prepare the Rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Cook the Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine and cook for another 3-4 minutes until heated through.
Assemble the Bowls
  1. Serve the cooked rice in bowls, topped with the ground beef mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
