Butter Garlic Pasta

Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti or any pasta of choice
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter divided
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cook the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, melt 1/4 cup of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with the remaining butter, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Toss to combine.
  3. If the pasta seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve
  1. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
