Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider reduced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon for coating

Method
 

Prepare the Donut Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients: eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and reduced apple cider.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Bake the Donuts
  1. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Coat the Donuts
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  2. While the donuts are still warm, coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Notes

These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
